About

Becky Peterson, MFA, PhD (she/her)

Becky’s book Textiles on Film is available from Bloomsbury Visual Arts: https://www.bloomsbury.com/us/textiles-on-film-9781350026551/ . Her articles on film, literature, and materiality appear in Textile: The Journal of Cloth and Culture and Arizona Quarterly, and in the edited collection Habits of Being: Accessorizing the Body. Becky’s poetry and essays are published in various journals and magazines, including Hyperallergic, The Rumpus, Bitch Magazine, and the Indiana Review. 


        Becky grew up in Northern California. She holds a BA in English from UC Berkeley, an MFA in poetry from Mills College, and a PhD in English from the University of Minnesota. A past University of New Mexico Feminist Research Institute Scholar-in-Residence, she has recently given talks at the Tatter Textile Library in Brooklyn, NY, and at the University of Cologne in Germany.
